Summer Promotion: Free delivery of the Japan Rail Pass!

Summer is one of the best times to explore Japan: matsuri (traditional festivals), spectacular fireworks, lush green landscapes, and vibrant cities offer a unique experience. But how can you travel easily, quickly, and affordably across the archipelago? The answer can be summed up in two words: JR Pass !

🚅 What is the JR Pass?

The Japan Rail Pass , or JR Pass , is a train pass reserved for foreign travelers. It allows unlimited access to most trains on the Japan Railways (JR) network, including the famous Shinkansen (bullet trains), regional trains, local lines, and even some buses and ferries.

Available for 7, 14 or 21 consecutive days , this is the ideal option for those who want to explore several regions without breaking the bank.

🗾 Why use the JR Pas s this summer?

1. Escape the urban heat and head to the sea and mountains

With the JR Pass, leave the stifling heat of Tokyo behind and enjoy the sea breeze in Shimoda or Kamakura , or the coolness of the hills in Karuizawa or Matsumoto . A breath of fresh air within easy reach of the Shinkansen!

2. Discover another side of summer Japan

Instead of the crowds of big festivals, explore authentic and peaceful places like Ito or Kanazawa . Less touristy, these destinations offer a more local, intimate… and equally magical Japanese summer.

3. Make the most of each trip with complete peace of mind

In one week, you'll travel from coast to countryside to mountains. A single Tokyo–Niigata Shinkansen ticket costs almost CHF 70. Add a few long-distance trips, and your JR Pass quickly pays for itself , while offering you comfort and freedom.

💡 Our tips for making the most of your JR Pass

  • Book your seats in high season (July-August), especially for long distances.
  • Remember to activate your pass at the right time: you can decide to activate it a few days after your arrival in Japan.
  • Download apps like Navitime for Japan Travel or Japan Travel by JNTO to plan your trips.
